Building Relationships Among Stakeholders
Angela Keen Badjie
Survivors - Adams County, PA
Lancaster County DA's Office
Victim service professionals sometimes encounter road blocks to working with other agencies such as law enforcement, legal, health care, and government, who also interface with victims. Effective inter-agency collaboration is vital to providing victims with the best information and the smoothest possible transition from victim to survivor.
This training will provide victim service professionals with the collaboration skills they need to work effectively with other agencies through better communications, de-escalation of tensions, clarification of problems and negotiation of solutions. Advocates will come away with a preliminary Action Plan to improve collaboration with at least one of their sister agencies.
This training will also provide advocates with the tools and skills needed to conduct this same training within their local communities, if they so choose. In this way, we can reach more advocates across the state of Pennsylvania and provide them with more skills and tools to improve inter-agency collaboration. Participants will be provided with a CD of all the training materials and tools needed to conduct the training themselves.
This training by the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute was developed and designed by a team of professionals representing the Office of the Victim Advocate, the Center for Victims Dialogue & Resolution Center and several community as well as system based victim advocacy agencies.
