Executive Director, PDAA
Director/Legal Resource Prosecutor, PDAI

Richard W. Long currently serves as the Executive Director of the PA District Attorneys Association (PDAA) and as the Director of the PA District Attorneys Institute (PDAI). He also serves as PDAI's Legal Resource Prosecutor.
Previously, Mr. Long served in the player personnel department of the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League from 2002 to 2010. He served as the Browns' northeast college area scout for his final two years with the organization. Prior to joining the Browns, he practiced law as a partner in the Harrisburg firm of Hoffman Long LLP.
Mr. Long's prosecutorial experience includes service as a Deputy District Attorney in the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office from 1997 to 2001. Long's duties included adult prosecution and managing the county's Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (A.R.D.) program.

Mr. Long is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the United States Army Reserve. He served a tour of duty in Baghdad, Iraq (2005-2006) as the Operational Law Attorney for the joint command tasked with developing all Iraqi military and police forces.

Mr. Long received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA. He received his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, FL.

Training and Membership Services Manager

Allison J. Hrestak currently serves as the membership services manager for the PA District Attorneys Association (PDAA), and as the training manager for the PA District Attorneys Institute (PDAI). She is responsible for organizing and developing the PDAA's statewide conferences and the PDAI's statewide training events including: curriculum development, negotiation of contracts, marketing of courses and overseeing the compliance with all requirements of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board.

Ms. Hrestak also serves as the liaison representing the PDAI in training grant related projects, such as the Child Abuse Coalition, Juvenile Prosecutors Network, State Correctional Institution Crimes Prosecutors Network and the Education and Training subcommittee.

Hrestak most recently served as the Press Secretary in the Department of State's Office of Communications and Press for the Ridge/Schweiker and Rendell Administration's. She also served as a Deputy Press Secretary for the Department of State as well as a Press Aide in Governor Tom Ridge's Office of Communications and Press.

She is a 1999 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Communications.

Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor


Formerly the part-time District Attorney of Sullivan County, Max holds undergraduate degrees in English and Broadcast/Film Art from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. After college, he worked in local programming for cable TV franchises owned by Sammons Communications, Inc., producing programs for local cable outlets and providing training and assistance to cable access users. Max began the study of law in 1988, at the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated with honors in 1991. Upon graduation, he served as a law clerk in the Court of Common Pleas of Bradford County, and subsequently was appointed to the position of assistant district attorney in Bradford County.
In 1993, Max was appointed District Attorney of Sullivan County, and thereafter won election to that office in 1997, 2001, and 2005. Max is looking forward to the opportunity to combine his prosecutorial and media/training experience, as he develops the TSRP program at PDAA/PDAI.

Megan V. Madaffari
Legal Support Prosecutor

Megan V. Madaffari currently serves as the Legal Support Prosecutor for the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association. She is responsible for providing Pennsylvania prosecutors and law enforcement personnel with one-on-one specialized training and technical assistance in pre-trial, trial and appellate issues.

Ms. Madaffari served as a Deputy District Attorney in the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office from 2011 to 2013. Her duties included adult prosecution and private criminal complaints. Prior to working for Dauphin County, Ms. Madaffari served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Schuylkill County District Attorney's office from 2010 to 2011.

Ms. Madaffari received her undergraduate degree in English Literature from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA. She received her law degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

Grants and Administration Manager


On August 22, 1994 Patty began her tenure at PDAA/PDAI as a part-time Program Clerk assembling training manuals and serving as back-up Receptionist. She was gradually given more duties assisting the accountant with payables and receivables and eventually, with the creation of the new Appellate Coordinator position, was offered full-time employment so that she could add Secretary to her job duties. As PDAI continued to grow and was awarded new grants, the need for a Grants Manager was deemed necessary. Patty was promoted to that position in March of 2001. In addition to her accounting duties, other job duties involve assisting in budget preparation, submission of all grant applications, and quarterly reports.

Training and Membership Services Coordinator

Tamara is the Training and Membership Services Coordinator for PDAA and PDAI. Some of her many duties include; membership renewal, customer service, information distribution, course registration, document production, and graphic design for many PDAA/PDAI publications. Tamara has a Bachelor of Music Degree (emphasis in recording technology) from Lebanon Valley College and an Associate in Theater Arts Degree from Harrisburg Area Community College.

Victim Witness Training Coordinator

Since July of 2012, Lisabeth has served as Victim Witness Training Coordinator for PDAI. She develops training programs for victim/witness professionals throughout PA and is available to assist with the victim service training needs of District Attorney Offices including providing phone consultations and arranging in-service training sessions.

Lisabeth has over 20 years of experience in the field of training and development as well as previous volunteer experience in a victim witness program. Prior to her position at PDAI, Ms. Capozzi served as a Director of Human Resources for Comcast from 2006 - 2012, and held management roles in Training & Development at local companies from 1998 - 2006.

Lisabeth holds a B.A. from Bucknell University, an M.S. in Experimental Psychology concentrated in Organizational Psychology from Villanova University, and is presently pursuing her doctoral degree in Adult Education at Penn State Harrisburg.

Lisabeth is available to assist with the victim service training needs of District Attorney Offices including providing phone consultations and arranging in-service training sessions.

Staff Accountant


As staff accountant Elena Hostetter is responsible for the completion of the accounting and financial reporting and coordinates the internal compliance audits. Additionally, Elena oversees the employee benefit plans. Throughout the past 20 years Elena has gained extensive experience in the accounting/controller environment within the construction and mechanical service business.
