Position: Chief Deputy of Criminal Trials – Office of the District Attorney
Department: District Attorney, 400 S. 8th Street, Room 11, Municipal Building, Lebanon, PA 17042
Available: Immediately
Bargaining Unit: None
Hours: 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday; however, hours of work are at the discretion of the District Attorney
Salary Range: $70,000 or Negotiable Higher – Based upon Experience
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform legal work in prosecuting criminal cases in the District Attorney’s Office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: prosecuting serious criminal cases such as sexual assault, child abuse, robbery, rape, attempted homicide, and homicide; advising less experienced ADA’s on trial strategy and pre-trial strategy; review of criminal investigations pending charging decisions; any other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
To apply, candidates must have a minimum of four (4) years of prosecution experience. Candidates must have prosecuted at least fifteen (15) criminal jury trials and first-chaired at least one (1) criminal homicide trial. Candidates must have a firm grasp of the rules of criminal procedure and evidence. Candidates must be willing to behave as a mentor and advisor to newer, less experienced ADA’s and discuss trial and pre-trial strategy. Candidates must be willing to give a minimum of three (3) years’ commitment.
