PDAI Victim Compensation Consultant

The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute (PDAI) is seeking a highly qualified Victim Compensation Consultant to provide 74 virtual one-hour trainings on Victim Compensation related topics per year. The training topics are established by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) and must be administered in accordance with PCCDs standards. This position is dependent upon the receipt of grant funding and is for a three-year period beginning January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2028.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate directly with the PCCD VCAP Manager to ensure that courses are conducted in accordance with PCCD standards
  • Plan, develop and conduct online trainings for victim service advocates, victims of crime, criminal and juvenile justice practitioners, community groups, and the general public in accordance with PCCD standards
  • Maintain a thorough and current knowledge of compensation claim processing methods and procedures by continually updating skills and knowledge of the governing statutes and regulations
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to agencies responsible for providing victim compensation and participate in advisory groups as requested as a victim service training expert in the areas of federal and state laws, policies, procedures, and standards related to victim compensation
  • Respond to requests for assistance and guidance on victim compensation issues to victim service providers, criminal justice related organizations, and the general public

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience providing training on the Victim Compensation Assistance Program
  • A thorough and demonstrated understanding of Pennsylvania’s Victim Compensation Assistance Program
  • A thorough understanding of the criminal justice system
  • Significant Experience in developing and conducting virtual trainings
  • Experience with the WebEx training platform
  • Experience with the Zoom training platform
  • The ability to professionally represent the PDAI and PCCD
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

This position description shall not be deemed to be all-inclusive and is subject to change. PDAI shall pay consultant a fee of $350 per training for up to 74 trainings per year.
