SNYDER COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY PIECUCH ELECTED TO CHAIR EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMITTEE

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute (PDAI) announced today that Snyder County District Attorney Michael Piecuch has been elected to serve as chair of its Education and Training Committee. Piecuch was elected unanimously by the PDAI board during its winter meeting.

The PDAI is the educational and training arm of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association. Its training and education committee directs programming to provide professional development and training for prosecutors, law enforcement and victim advocates.

“The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute provides prosecutors and other members of law enforcement with high-level professional training to ensure integrity in the work we do and truth in the justice we seek,” said Lehigh County District Attorney and PDAI President James Martin. “As president of PDAI, I look forward to working with District Attorney Piecuch to provide the kind of education and training programs that will help district attorneys all over our commonwealth perform their duties to the best of their abilities on behalf of the citizens we serve.”

Piecuch became Snyder County District Attorney in 2010. Prior to that, he served as the executive director of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association and as chief of staff to then-Speaker of the House Dennis O’Brien.

“It is an honor to have been chosen by my fellow district attorneys to provide focus and direction for our on-going training programs,” Piecuch said. “PDAI has earned a national reputation for its preeminent training for prosecutors, law enforcement and victim services and I certainly look forward to continuing its track record of excellence.”

About the Pennsylvania District Attorney Institute: PDAI, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is the education and training affiliate of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association based in Harrisburg, PA. Since its inception, the Institute has trained over 2,000 assistant district attorneys in its basic prosecutors’ course and held a district attorney seminar for newly elected and appointed DAs every other year. The Institute also conducts training courses for law enforcement officers and victim service professionals.
