Armstrong County District Attorney Katie M. Charlton Elected President of PDAA

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association (PDAA) recently elected Armstrong County District Attorney Katie M. Charlton as president for the 2026-27 business year. Charlton previously served as the association’s vice president.
“I have the utmost respect for the members of the PDAA, who dedicate themselves to the common goals of seeking justice and serving our communities,” Charlton said. “Serving as president of this organization is one of the greatest honors of my career. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this association, and I am humbled by the trust placed in me.”
A 2008 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law, Charlton started her career in private practice in Butler, PA. In 2011, She was appointed as an assistant district attorney in Armstrong County, and she ran for the office in 2017. Charlton became the first female elected as district attorney in Armstrong County.
In 2018, Duquesne University School of Law named her “Woman of the Year.”
Charlton has served on the PDAA Executive Committee and is a board member of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute (PDAI), the education and training arm of the PDAA.
