Compensation:  Base salary $49,000

Duties:  Cumberland County is the fastest growing county in Pennsylvania.  An assistant district attorney in the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office is responsible for the prosecution of a wide array of criminal offenses and handles all phases of a prosecution from pre-investigation through post-sentence appeals.  This includes consulting with police during the investigation, reviewing and approving search warrants, providing final approval on criminal charges, handling preliminary hearings, preparing and prosecuting criminal trials and litigating pre and post-trial motions.  An ADA in this position can also expect to participate as the District Attorney’s representative in Cumberland County’s Drug Treatment Court.  Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, a Juris Doctorate degree, be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and successfully meet the requirements of the criminal history background check.  Applicants must also possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
