ON THE PASSING OF CHEIF JUSTICE RALPH CAPPY

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association President and District Attorney of Erie County Brad Foulk issued the following statement regarding the unexpected death of retired Chief Justice Ralph Cappy:

“There is great sadness among district attorneys regarding the tragic and unexpected loss of Chief Justice Ralph Cappy.  Pennsylvania has lost a legal giant whose respect for the law and commitment to fairness was always paramount throughout his thirty years on the bench.

“Justice Cappy will be greatly missed for his legal mind and his love for Pennsylvania.  His integrity in service, dedication to reform, and his unwavering belief in truth in justice will be standard bearers for generations of appellate judges to come.

“On behalf of prosecutors throughout Pennsylvania, we extend our condolences to Justice Cappy’s wife Janet and his entire family.”
