PDAA congratulates Ande Gonzalez for earning the “Distinguished Faculty Award”

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association (PDAA) congratulates Ande Gonzalez, Chief of Appeals and Legal Services for the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, who recently received the “Distinguished Faculty Award” for his outstanding instruction and presentations.
Gonzalez is a frequent instructor and speaker for the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute (PDAI), the education and training arm of PDAA. He also serves as a member of PDAI’s Education and Training Committee.
Every year, PDAI trains hundreds of prosecutors and law enforcement officials on legal issues, including child abuse investigations, obtaining search warrants, changes to the DUI laws, and prosecutorial ethics.
Gonzalez said the type of training offered by PDAI is essential for law enforcement officials to succeed in bringing justice for crime victims.
“The law is constantly changing due to appellate court decisions and legislative enactments,” Gonzalez said. “As a result, it is essential that prosecutors and police officers continue to receive training on the current procedures and laws, which is their responsibility to follow and enforce. This continuing education improves the quality and integrity of investigations and prosecutions.”
In addition to teaching at PDAI, Gonzalez is an instructor with the Pennsylvania DUI Association and the only prosecutor in Pennsylvania to be certified as a Drug Recognition Expert.
Gonzalez graduated from Widener University School of Law in 2005 and immediately began his career as a prosecutor with the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
