PDAA supports federal legislation designed to help hire, train, and retain prosecutors

July 30, 2024

HARRISBURG – Clinton County District Attorney and PDAA President David Strouse says PDAA supports federal legislation that would offer district attorneys the resources they need to better hire, train, and retain prosecutors who are essential to keeping our communities safe.

“Prosecutors are needed to ensure the safety of their communities and seek justice for crime victims,” Strouse said. “However, district attorneys are finding it more and more difficult to fill job vacancies in their offices. This puts a strain on their dedicated staff who work daily to enhance public safety.”

Strouse added: “PDAA supports legislation that will help district attorneys recruit and retain prosecutors. It is vital that we have the experienced prosecutors needed to ensure that crime victims are served, offenders are held accountable, and communities are safe.”

Strouse’s comments were included in a news release issued by U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA), who is the prime sponsor of the bipartisan HIRRE Prosecutors legislation.
