The Women Prosecutors Network Strengthens Connections, Builds Camaraderie, and Advocates for Victims
Across Pennsylvania, more women are joining the ranks of district attorneys’ offices. They bring extraordinary skills, deep compassion, and unwavering determination to the pursuit of justice. Their leadership makes communities safer, helps victims feel heard and supported, and ensures accountability in every corner of the Commonwealth.
To create a space where women can learn from, support, and encourage one another, the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association proudly promotes the Women Prosecutors Network (WPN)—a statewide community dedicated to empowering and connecting women in prosecution.
WPN is grounded in a shared vision:
United by our passion that the work we do changes lives. By supporting each other, we strengthen relationships and enhance our professional experience.
Membership in WPN offers a wide range of benefits tailored to the unique needs of women in the field, including:
- Mentorship and leadership development
- Networking and statewide partnership‑building
- Open discussion of prosecution issues important to women
- Case consultations and a pipeline for peer‑to‑peer advice
- Advocacy, education, and awareness on key issues
- Wellness tips and initiatives that support work/life balance
- Opportunities to support charitable causes
- Social events, friendship, and community
WPN meets regularly to discuss challenges and solutions, celebrate successes, and build lasting connections with colleagues who understand the demands of the work. The members also advocate for and raise awareness about critical issues such as domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking.
Armstrong County District Attorney Katie Charlton, chair of the Women Prosecutors Network, said: “When women prosecutors support one another, we elevate the profession, strengthen our offices, and improve outcomes for the communities we serve. We find camaraderie, encouragement, and helpful opportunities to share ideas about the unique issues that women in this field face.”
